TRUTH MUST BE TOLD: NPP Government Have Added Nothing To Our Football – Kojo Yankah
Astute Ghanaian Football Administrator Kojo Yankah believes the ruling Government has added nothing to the game of football but rather creating loopholes.
The Former Western Region Football Association chairman, has blamed the government on the decline of football in the West African country-Ghana.
For three seasons, the Ghana Premier League has never seen the daylight of completion. Under the NPP Government, Ghana Football got dragged with Anas Exposé, which led to the organisation of NC Special Cup.
However, Government supervised the cancellation of the 2019/20 league season amidst Corona Virus following the Government ban on all football related activities.
The league season was then truncated despite playing 14 matches in the Premier League and 13 games in the Division One.
First week of October has being scheduled to begin a new league season, since the clubs are suffering.
Considering all, Kojo Yankah believes the game is still at ground zero under the Current Government. He believes
the NPP’s attempt to liquidate football after Anas’ exposé are clear signs that they don’t care about the game, leaving football to it own fate in this COVID 19 era.
“We are still at ground zero since the NPP took over”
“The government wants to collapse football since we did not allow them to run it their own way after the Anas exposé.” Kojo Yankah told Takoradi based Kyzz FM.
“Why open the door for these national teams and leave out the rest in this same contact sports? Let’s be honest, it is a deliberate way to destroy our clubs and football in this country.” He added.
The President on his 14th Corona Virus update to the nation, paved way for the National U-17 and U-20 teams to resume training ahead of their qualifiers.
