Sandra Owusu Lauds Government Initiative To Support Women’s Football
Black Queens and Supreme Ladies sensational forward, Sandra Owusu Ansah has praised the Government of Ghana for its intervention to support the development of women’s football.
The Government following the outbreak of Global pandemic Corona Virus worked out a stimulus package to rescue Ghanaian clubs from danger. This initiative by the Government was done through the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
YEA agreed to pay female footballers Ghc500 for the next six months as part of it plan. Following this, former Black Princesses skipper Sandra Owusu has hailed the Government and asked he support more.
“The government of Ghana has really done well and great steps to provide us with such relief when we least expected it,” he told Kumasi based
“I wish it will be a permanent decision from government to motivate and inspire more women to play football in the country and yield quality players for our Women’s National Team,” she added.
Five hundred people within the National Women’s League clubs have been enrolled unto the programme.
The payment takes effect this month, July 2020.
