Women’s National Teams Lack Development – Black Queens Skipper Elizabeth Addo

Black Queens captain Elizabeth Addo has retorted that, the Ghana Football Association and the Sports Ministry has failed to develop the various Women’s National team.

Ghana has three categories of women’s national teams that represents the country in any FIFA sanctioned tournament provided they qualify. Thus, the Black Maidens, Black Princesses and the Black Queens.

Nevertheless, none of the aforementioned has won any FIFA organised tournament for the country. And Elizabeth Addo believes, lack of development for the women’s national teams is the main factor hindering the footballing nation from winning any FIFA organised tournament.

The 26-year old who trades with Chinese club Jiangsu Suning in the Chinese Women’s Super League wants the Ghana Football Association to put in place development structures and policies like the European countries.

According to Addo, Ghanaians are disappointed in both the Black Stars and the Black Queens for failing to win any giant trophy. However, urges the authorities to follow the foot of the Europeans and surely, the country will arrive at the top.

“We the players always obey Coach’s formation and even give 100% performance in every single game, the
Coach’s also do their best” But our national teams expecially women’s teams lack Development”

“The country and Africa should start focusing on Youth teams (U15, 17,19, 20,) proper as it’s done in Europe”Our FA should arrange friendly games during International days set up by FIFA”, Addo told West FM in Takoradi.

“Ghana have more talented players but lack of support and development, always they vanished”

“Our coaches should also be given more time to develop the players”, Elizabeth Addo concluded.
