Former Trainer of the Senior National team of Ghana-the Black Stars, Coach Goran Stevanovic has lauded Ghanaian Internnational James Kwasi Appiah for his immerse contribution to Black Stars.
Stevanovic has given much credit to Coach Kwasi Appiah who took charge of the Black Stars in 2013 after serving as assistant. According to Goran, Coach Kwesi Appiah who was his deputy did a very good work after taking the role of a head coach.
Appiah led Ghana to one FIFA World Cup, and two African Cup of Nations where he lost the 2015 trophy to Ivory Coast.
“Coach Kwasi Appiah who was my assistant those days also did a very good job for me” I wasn’t surprised seeing him as the head coach for the Black Stars”
“I must admit he did a very good job for the country”, he told Ashh FM.
Coach Goran has however retorted of returning to Ghana to manage the Black Stars. Revealing that, he will not think twice to take over once again.
“I will not hesitate even for a second to say “Yes” when given opportunity again to coach the Black Stars. Because, I feel I have unfinished business with the team, there is something I started that I couldn’t finished and will be very happy to coach the Black stars again in future.”
The Serbian took over the reigns as the coach of the Black Stars in 2011 and led the four-time African champions to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations but painfully bowed out of the tournament to eventual winners Zambia at the semifinal stage despite putting in their best display at the competition.
