The Chairperson of the Nigeria women’s Football league [NWFL], Aisha Falode, has said that Africa will have its version of the Women Champions league come 2020.
Speaking in an interview with the press on Tuesday, she said Nigeria has to be commended for taking the initiative 30 years ago, to pioneer the organization of women football league in Africa.
Falode also confirmed that the world football governing body, FIFA is considering introducing the world club Championship for women, and Africa’s representative will certainly be the Continent’s club champion.
She said, “It is long over due. I think part of the delay was as a result of the slow progress other African countries have made in embracing women football”.
However, only few countries have embraced women Football league on the Continent.
