There should be a nationalistic feeling from our players; Parliament tells Kurt Okraku to work on

Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku with the Executive Council paid a courtesy call to the house of Parliament during the week.

The courtesy was to officially present himself and the outlined activities of the association to the speaker of Parliament and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture. It was a successful meeting between the two parties.

The meeting touched on transperancy, development of colts football, branding of the national teams and the campaign to bring back the love.

Parliament having held meeting to it fruitfulness, charged the Ghana Football Association to ensure there is a nationalistic feeling in the players that represent Ghana at the various National team level. Thus, the Black Stars, Black Queens, Black Meteors, Black Princesses, the Black Satellites, the Black Maidens etc.

“We urged them to follow their program of activities accordingly and also be guided by things that has happened in the past. We advised them to go back for past commission of enquiry reports to serve as a guide to them”

“Bringing back the love for the national teams will require a bit of commitment from the players, there should be a nationalistic feeling from the players, they must die a bit for the nation”, Hon. Alex Agyekum said in an interview with Kumasi FM.

“Budget presented to the government for the league cannot be approved by us but we can only recommend to the government but we have appealed to corporate bodies to come in and help. The budget presented($12mil)is even more than the annual budget of the sports ministry”.

Hon. Alex Agyekum, a Member of Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture opined on the tragedy of Ghana Football which has reckon the country for several years, penalty shootouts. Ghana have lost major and minor trophies trophy Spot-kicks.

“On our penalty woes as a country, we emphasized on the need to do the right things in ending this tragedy,we cannot continue to suffer for that hence the need to appoint a technical team to be in charge of that aspect of the game. This penalty issue must be a thing of the past.
