The newly formed Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to hold it first Ordinary Congress this year, Ghanasportscenter.com can exclusively confirm.
The new FA having officially resumed office on Monday, November 16 2019, has announced a date for their first ever Extraordinary Congress after taking over.
Kurt Edwin Simeone Okraku who was elected a successor of Kwesi Nyantakyi months ago, is expected to formulate new policies with the Executive Council Members as they plan to kick start the new season.
With other related activities expected to be discussed, the most important of the Congress will be fixing a date to settle the barrier between Central Region RFA Chairman Robert Duncan and Upper East RFA Chairman Shaibu Salifu Zida over the Executive Council position.
October 24, 2019 the Regional Football Association chairs, held an election at the GFA Secretariat to elect two members to the Executive Council. Only a slot was sold out leaving one after three rounds of elections. Therefore, needed to postpone the elections, having recorded both contestants sharing votes equally.
The Ghana FA Extraordinary Congress will be held on 12th December 2019 at the FA’s Secretariat.
