Coach Sellas Tetteh’s side Sierra Leone were unable to qualify for tue group stages of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Sierra Leone team failed to overturn a 3-1 defict in their second leg of the preliminary stage against Liberia in Freetown over the weekend.
Captain Umaru Bangura missed a 95th minute penalty to deny Sellas Tetteh’s team a group stage spot of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Sellas Tetteh’s charges missed out on the opportunity of joining 13 other winning countries from the preliminary stage to the second round.
The second round will see the top 26 ranked nations on the continent joined by the 14 teams from the first round – the 40 teams will be drawn into ten groups of four.
