Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah believes a country can only win the African Cup of Nations if it takes into consideration experience.
The former Khartoum gaffer, says Ghana can exhibit positives at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt with the experienced players, supported by the fresh angry for success players within the team.
According to Kwesi Appiah, Ghana’s await for a major ware will come to end this time round only if the inexperienced players in the team willingly support the experienced players during the AFCON tournament in Egypt set to commence on June 21.
Ghana has since 1982 failed to win the African Cup of Nations after winning their fourth.
“To win the AFCON, it takes experience to achieve that with support from the inexperienced ones”.
“And it’s the best thing that we blend the experienced among the inexperienced. I think if the inexperienced players in the team (Black Stars) help the experienced ones with determination, Ghana will do something positive”, Appiah told Micheal Oti Adjei of Media General Fame (TV3).
The Black Stars of Ghana after engaging South Africa in a Pre-Afcon game will depart to Dubai on Friday, where they will camp in Ismailia.
Ghana has been paired in group F alongside Benin, Guinea-Bassau and defending champions Cameroon.
The Black Stars will begin the AFCON campaign against the Squirrels of Benin on June 25 before facing the Indomitable Lions in the second game at the Ismailia Stadium.
